Wishing Lantern

Ever want to make a wish and send it on its way to be fulfilled? Here is your chance. This magic lighted Chinese Lantern will comfort and cheer your spirit as it floats on its way to grant your wish for yourself or someone you love. You will need to buy your wishing right for $5, make your wish known to the lighted lantern and set it in the creek to send it on its way. Then watch and enjoy the beauty as all the lanterns float along with their lights glittering, on their way to making your wish come true. This is a new addition to the Dragon Boat Festival this year and there are two opportunities to participate.

Preview Launching of the Wishing Lanterns will be at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 7 on Brush Creek near Cafe Corner.

The public is invited to participate. Wishes will be sold on site.

The Launching of the Chinese Wishing Lanterns will be on Brush Creek Saturday, June 13th, starting at 9:00 p.m.

Wishes will be sold at the Information Booth from 10:00 a.m. to 8:30pm at the Dragon Boat Festival.

In addition, there will be a contest at the Saturday event to win a beautiful lantern of your own.

Lanterns (including batteries) may also be purchased to use for decorations.

The money for the wishes will go to help finance our school projects in our Sister City, Xi'an. These are schools in remote areas that many of you have heard of before where we helped supply desks (One Child, One Desk), books and built a library. We giving 30 scholarship to three Primary Schools and five scholarship to Shaanxi Normal University annually.
